It is in this context that we are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join us.


The Role

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the modelling, analysis, ongoing monitoring, and assessment required in the provision of pricing, profitability and product support services for the Insignia Distribution and Finance divisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and ongoing maintenance of Workplace Super pricing models, including supporting documentation and adherence to group policies
  • Assist Senior Product/Product Actuaries with assessment of product pricing initiatives, including impact on member outcomes and shareholder returns
  • Accurate and timely delivery of BAU and ad-hoc tasks in support of Product Management e.g., Unit Pricing parameter reviews, disclosure of investment fees & costs (RG97) etc.
  • Technical review of compensation and remediation calculations in accordance with approved methodology and approach
  • Continuous review and simplification of processes aimed to deliver relevant, client-focused outcomes
  • Development and maintenance of actuarial models and processes, ensuring adherence to model risk governance policies and internal actuarial governance
  • Assist Senior Product/Product Actuary with review of economic and demographic assumptions
  • Assist Senior Product/Product Actuary with expense apportionment to separately identify MySuper and Insurance related operating costs for the purpose assessing cost recovery test
  • Maintain up to date data sources for pricing and profitability purposes e.g., FUM/A, net funds flow data


To Be Successful in This Role You Will Possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial studies or equivalent
  • Studying towards an actuarial qualification with an interest in Superannuation
  • Proven experience within Financial Services industry
  • Advanced modelling skills with experience developing projection and forecasting models
  • Sound understanding of discounted cash-flows
  • Knowledge of Superannuation products and key profitability drivers is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and self-checker
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
